Rachel Thompson

Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Planning

Rachel Thompson was named as Vertiv’s Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Planning, as well as Chief of Staff, in 2023.  In this role, she is responsible for company-wide strategic planning, deployment, and execution processes. 

Rachel has 20 years of experience in strategy, product leadership, and highly cross-functional processes within global companies. Rachel was previously the Senior Director and Director of Corporate Strategy & Planning for Vertiv, establishing strategic processes and leading transformational programs, from 2019 to 2023. Prior to her experience at Vertiv, Rachel was Vice President, International Golf & Turf for Textron Specialized Vehicles and held management and director roles in Global Product Management & Strategy, and Advanced Design & Technology at Jacobsen, a Textron Company.  Rachel began her career within Ingersoll Rand’s Leadership Development Program and held various roles of progression in Lean Operations, M&A Integration, Commercial Marketing & Development, and Product Marketing Management at Ingersoll Rand and Doosan Corporation. 

Rachel graduated Cum Laude from Virginia Tech in Industrial & Systems Engineering, and completed executive business and strategy education programs at Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business and UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
