Adapting Your Infrastructure For a Software Defined World
The benefits of a Software-Defined Data Center are many, but there are practical issues being experienced by early and mainstream adopters. How is existing equipment repurposed? How is new equipment seamlessly introduced? How should Controls and Management be implemented in a software layer? This session will present best practices for approaching these and related issues, using the market requirements for Software Defined Networking/Network Function Virtualization as a case study.

Improving Latency at the Network Edge
The rise of colocation and cloud services is growing at approximately 10% per year, with cloud growth rates more than double that number, as the digitization of the world expands the global need for IT compute and storage capacity. Major metropolitan areas are shifting toward fewer but larger data centers. However, transport networks around these central colocation and cloud service data centers are getting extremely congested during peak usage time. This is due to the increasing demand of consumer facing applications like Netflix, Pokémon Go and the Internet of Things (IoT). Faster speed at the network edge is a must.

ENERGIZE! The Quest for Improved Power Backup with Lithium Ion Batteries
Get ready to hear more facts than hype concerning Lithium Ion batteries for the data center. Join us as we delve into hard data and real examples about this emerging energy storage solution and how it can best be paired with large UPS systems. You’ll discover why all Lithium Ion batteries (LIB) are not created equal and the benefit of selecting among multiple LIB alternatives, each tested and validated with the specific UPS. We’ll tackle what to look for in chemistries, how LIBs are packaged, review cost models and evaluate operating parameters against lead-acid batteries so you can walk away with a true comparison to make the best decision for your organization.
