Privacy notice on cookies
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies enable, for example, a website to remember your actions and preferences (for example, login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so that you do not have to keep re-entering them whenever you revisit a site or browse various pages.
Like most websites this size, Vertiv Group Corporation (“Vertiv”) will sometimes place cookies on your device to make our website work properly, improve your experience or track your navigation of the website, in order to send you promotional messages targeted to your preferences. We also allow third parties to place cookies on your device when you use the website.
Below is a summary of the different types of cookies we use and for what purposes.
(a) Technical cookies:
These cookies are essential to ensure the correct functioning of the website, to allow you to register/login and access reserved features, and to allow us to monitor the security of the website and improve operating performance, for example, by storing your preferences to enhance your subsequent visits.
Please be aware that if you refuse or disable these cookies, the proper functioning of some features and access to some parts of the website might be affected (for example, you might not be able to access features that require registration/login) and we might not be able to provide you with a better browsing experience.
(b) Analytics cookies:
These cookies allow us to collect and analyse traffic and use of the website on an anonymous basis and to understand and improve how visitors use the website, including which pages and products are viewed most frequently. These cookies are not strictly necessary for the website to work but will provide you a better browsing experience.
(c) Profiling cookies:
These cookies allow us to track your navigation of the website to create profiles of your tastes, habits, choices, etc., to send you promotional messages targeted to your preferences. Refusal of these cookies will not affect the proper functioning of the website but will prevent us from being able to send you promotional messages targeted to your preferences.
Some technical cookies are session cookies: they are stored temporarily during a browsing session and are automatically deleted from your device when the browser is closed. Other cookies are persistent cookies: they are not automatically deleted when the browser is closed but are saved on your device for a fixed period (for example, until the end of the year) or until you delete them.
Here is a list of the first-party technical cookies we use. First-party (also known as proprietary) cookies are controlled and managed by Vertiv.
|To check whether you accepted this cookie notification (which users receive on their first visit).||1 year|
|To determine and save the country of access and to determine the geographical location of users.||1 year|
|To save what job (consultant, partner, etc.) users do.||The cookie is removed on exiting the browser (session)|
|To save email addresses of users in an encrypted format||180 days|
|To facilitate user authentication and sessions.||The cookie is removed on exiting the browser (session)|
Your consent is not required to install and use technical cookies; the legal basis for using these cookies is a contract with you granting you website access and services as a user. Your consent is instead required for profiling cookies: please remember that by accessing any item/clicking on any of the links under this banner, you agree to the use of these cookies.
For more information on the above cookies, please email our Data Protection Officer at: email@example.com.
For each category of the above cookies, our website uses third-party cookies managed by third-party service providers, such as Google Analytics and Oracle Eloqua. Vertiv does not control third-party cookies, so you should refer to their cookie policies, which can be found at the following links:
How to control cookies?
You can accept, disable and reject proprietary and third-party cookies easily by adjusting your browser settings. But as mentioned, total or partial disabling of technical cookies may affect the proper functioning of features reserved to registered users, whereas disabling analytics or profiling cookies will not affect browsing experience in any way. For your convenience, below are links to the web pages of the main browsers that contain instructions on how to delete cookies:
Internet Explorer | Firefox | Chrome | Safari
You can delete all cookies on your device and set most browsers to prevent them from being installed. But if you do, you may have to adjust some preferences every time you visit a site, and some services and functionalities may not work.
We will only collect, use or disclose your personal data when it is fair and lawful to do so. For a more detailed understanding of how we use personal data and of your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation 679/2016, please refer to our Privacy Notice.
