Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What is the NEMA rating of ASCO Model 265 enclosure?
A
The ASCO Model 265 is designed for wastewater applications and has a NEMA 4X rating.
Q
What is the maximum operating current for the signal line surge protector?
A
The maximum operating current for the signal line is 150mA. ASCO Model 265 is a combination of model 252 (AC protection) and model 175 (signal line protection).
Q
I'm confused; a surge protective device installed at my service entrance isn't enough?
A
No, surge protection alone will not assist in eliminating lower voltage transients generated from other equipment within a facility. Over time, transients can destroy sensitive equipment just as much as a high-energy event. For example: the cycling on/off of heating and AC units can generate transients throughout the electrical system, directly impacting other loads or connected equipment. If the individual equipment isn't protected; malfunctioning incidents could increase and/or a total equipment breakdown will result.
